Time is fast approaching for our Intermediate Digital SLR Photography Workshop – next Wednesday 11 June, led by Stratford-on-Avon based professional photographer Sally Crane. It’s an opportunity to move your photography to a new level, press that new DSLR into use, or simply refresh your love for landscape and garden photography.
Following a very successful beginners DSLR workshop back in March, this follow on workshop assumes that participants would have a basic understanding of photography; although it is by no means necessary to have taken part in the earlier workshop – newcomers are welcome!
The start of the day will feature a familiarisation period to establish a basic understanding of your camera, and other models within the group. This is an interesting session and helps to re-connect the more occasional photographer with their camera – and also gives good opportunity to see which models that other photographers favour. It must be said however that you’re not obliged to bring a host of equipment – a basic, fully charged DSLR camera will suffice.
There will throughout the day be practical exercises including trips out into the grounds, where photography composition and techniques can be explored. It is also worth noting that the grounds of Compton Verney currently feature the Moore Rodin exhibition. The sculptures have been well received and much photographed, and they sit so happily in the ‘Capability’ Brown landscape – it will be good to see how you capture them through the lens!
As group numbers are kept low, there is time for individual guidance within the group setting. There’s also an indoor critique session to review some of the results – a very useful if optional end to the day. (It is always great to see images on a white wall!) Workshop fee also includes Includes exhibition, collections and grounds admission.
